As of Monday, May 18, crews in Trigg County had picked up more than 204,000 cubic yards of debris, and it has been estimated that crews in Trigg and other counties will have completed their debris cleanup work by Saturday, June 6, said Todd.
“If there are counties where substantial work is remaining when we get to the June 6 completion date, we will evaluate each county and make a determination if contract crews are still needed,” Todd said.
Todd said there have been several instances where crews have cleaned storm debris under bridges, only to have those bridges clog again during another rain storm.
“As one of our engineers put it, on June 6 we’ll be done, but not finished,” said Todd.
