Pat devoted herself to a variety of civic activities for the City of Herrin including the Herrin Chamber of Commerce and the Herrin Rotary Club. She was also a student of history throughout her life. Her range of knowledge spanned a spectrum from the earliest family histories of western Kentucky to current world events. She never ceased learning.
Pat is survived by her mother, Virginia S. Chandler; her son James Gregory Hendrick and his wife Pam; her grandson Justin R. Hendrick and his wife Chelsea; her sister Peggy S. Noel and her husband Dalton; her brother Craig S. Chandler and his wife Teresa; her brother Douglas W. Shaw and his wife Brenda; and her spouse of 27 years, Herbert E. McMeen of Carbondale, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rollie Shaw.
Pat’s family and friends shall gather at the First Baptist Church of Murray on Sunday, June 14, 2009, beginning at 1 p.m. The preferred form of remembrance is a contribution to the Dixon Cemetery Association, Inc. for the benefit of a family cemetery Pat helped rehabilitate.
