Mitchell ties for 12th at state am

Tyler Mitchell of Cadiz tied for 12th at last week’s Kentucky State Amateur Golf Championship at Lexington’s Champion Trace Golf Club.

Mitchell shot 1-over-par for the tournament, firing a +1 73 in the first round an an even-par 72 in the second. He finished eight strokes behind the winner, Jordan Blann of Bowling Green.

Mitchell tied for the best finish by a player residing west of Bowling Green, as Hunter York of Hardin also shot 145 in the event.
