There will also be shows every Monday – Thursday in August that will deal with stories based on Greek mythology, legends and constellations, according to Wytosha Stevens-Coney, public affairs specialist for Land Between the Lakes.
“We hope to have a good turnout,” Stevens-Coney said, adding that the planetarium has a capacity of 85-90 people.
The first one will be held this Friday. At 6:45 p.m., there will be a Laser Beattles show, at 8 p.m. there will be a Laser Vinyl show, and at 9:15 p.m. there will be a show for Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album.
On Aug. 14, a Laser Spirit show will start at 6:45 p.m., followed by a Laser Pop show at 8 p.m., and at 9:15 p.m., there will be a show for Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” album.
On Aug. 21, there will be a Laser Mania show at 6:45 p.m., a Laseropolis show at 8 p.m., and a Laser Zeppelin show at 9:15 p.m.
On Aug. 28, there will be another show for Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album at 6:45 p.m., followed by another Laser Zeppelin show at 8 p.m. and a U2 laser show at 9:15 pm.
Noon shows will include Greek stories about Perseus and Andromeda as well as Orion, Stevens-Coney said.
Although it is a one-time event, the organizers will look at attendance and participation and decide whether the area would want for the event to take place again, Stevens-Coney.
Before every show, there will be short presentations provided by the event’s sponsors that will show event goers what there is to do in western Kentucky and Tennessee, Stevens-Coney said.
The price is $5 for those 13 years old or older, and $2 for those ages 5 – 12. The shows are free for those ages 4 and under.
