Proffitt takes 17th at Amateur Motocross Nationals

HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn. – Trigg County Elementary School student Dylan Proffitt made a name for himself on a national stage this weekend.

Proffitt, 6, of Gracey, finished 17th out of 42 competitors in the 4-6 Stock Shaft Drive division of the 28th annual Air Natiques/AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

The event is held at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch and Campground and is the largest of a handful of national competitions held each year.

Proffitt qualified for the national event last month in regional competition. He is the son of Eddie and Jessica Proffitt.
