‘Cats finish ninth at Paducah Invitational

PADUCAH – Trigg County’s boys golf team opened its 2009 season with a middle-of-the-pack finish Saturday at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational at Paxton Park Golf Course.

The Wildcats finished eighth out of 15 teams, all from the 1st Region. Trigg shot a team score of 335, 21 strokes behind first-place Calloway County.

Leading the way for Trigg was Josh Low, who shot a score of 78, 12th best in the field. Also playing for the ‘Cats was Nick Choate (84), Trent Parrent (86), Cole Gardner (87) and Derek Rogers (94).

Trigg was scheduled to return to action Tuesday at Marion Country Club. Results were unavailable at press time.

This week, the Wildcats will host Lyon County and University Heights on Thursday at Boots Randolph Golf Course. Trigg is then scheduled to play Monday at Nova Dell in Hopkinsville against Dawson Springs and UHA and at Boots again Tuesday against Crittenden County.
