The Rev. Monty Flanigan officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery, Cadiz.
Mrs. Oakley died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at her residence following a long illness.
Mrs. Oakley was born August 14, 1933 in Golden Pond, KY. She was the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Gertha B. Crowder Hendon.
Mrs. Oakley was a homemaker, a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church and she volunteered at Trigg Co. Schools.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, William Burnett Hendon and one granddaughter, Lauren M. Daly Moon, September 1, 2005.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Roger Oakley, Cadiz, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Kay and Philip Daly, of Tampa Fla., Kathy Ann and Robert Culligan, of Clarksville, Tenn., three brothers and sisters-in-law, James O. and Hazel Hendon, Cedar lake Ind., Bobbie E. And Carlea Hendon, of Cadiz, and Thomas R. and Annie Hendon, Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Robby M. and Niki Culligan, of Clarksville, Tenn., Chris D. Culligan of Deland, Fla., Meagan A. Daly, of Tampa, Fla., and Matthew R. Culligan, of Clarksville, Tenn.; one great grandson, Robert Wyatt Culligan, of Clarksville, Tenn.
Serving as pallbearers were Phil Daly, Rob Culligan, Robby Culligan, Chris Culligan, matt Culligan, Jimmy Hendon and Kevin Hendon.
Sandi Moore, niece and pianist, provided music, and Meagan Daly, granddaughter, provided musical interpretation.
