The Rev. James Edwards officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Cave Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Cerulean.
Mrs. Hughes died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Princeton health and Rehab of natural causes.
Mrs. Hughes was born February 18, 1922. She was the daughter of the late, Hugh and Albert Palmer.
Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker. She was a member of Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church .
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hughes.
Survivors include one son Ray Hughes of Cadiz, one stepdaughter, Barbara Anderson of Louisville, two-step sons, Herman Hughes Jr. and John Hughes both of Chicago, Ill.; two-step grand children, four step great granddaughters of Cadiz, two sisters, Jessie Watkins, of Cadiz, Irene McGowan of Grace and a host of nieces and nephews.
