Funeral services for Elbert “Ed” Williams, 94 of Cadiz will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Hagan will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with full military honors.

Mr. Williams died at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Shady lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz of natural causes.

Mr. Williams was born Thursday, June 10, 1915 in Brownwood, Texas. He was the son of the late Francis M. and Connie L. Brown Williams.

Mr. Williams was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. He was a retired mechanic from Stockton Transit Bus Line and Stockton School District. He had also worked as a helicopter mechanic. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Romero Isbell Williams, two brothers, John P. Williams and Cecil L. Williams; two sisters, Loucil Williams and Ruby Williams.

Survivors include four sons, Robert “Bob” Williams of Gracey, Richard T. Williams of Salings, Calif., Steve A. Williams of Broomfield, Colo., and Roy L. Williams; one daughter, Florence I. Williams Montalvo of Bethel Island, Calif., two-step daughters, Louise Lopez of Stockton, Calif., and Delorse Gonsalez of Stockton, Calif.

Serving, as pallbearers were Robert Williams, III, Tommy Williams, Jared Skinner, Bruce Balthrope, Sean Williams and Derek Martin.

Honorary pallbearers were James “J.T.” Sota, Kaleb “tag’s” Skinner and Kevin Martin.
