Trigg County residents who receive unemployment benefits will be eligible to receive food from the Helping Hands organization thanks to a $5,000 federal economic recovery grant.

Helping Hands Co-Chair K.G. Ariagno said those who want to receive the food grant need to bring copies of proof of unemployment to the food bank.

According to Ariagno, last Thursday’s food pickup time was for people whose names began with the letters A – M, and that those with last names with the letters M – Z will need to come to the food bank this Thursday.

Each person who comes by will receive a generous supply of food, Ariagno added.

Those that can’t make it to the food bank during food pickup times can call and leave a message at 522-1001.
