Tourism building renovations should be done by locals

To the editor:

I was just reading in a recent issue about renovations about to begin at the Trigg Tourism building.

I found it interesting and a little disconcerting that the renovations are being done by a construction company from South Fulton, Tenn.

Surely there must be some company in Trigg County, if not in all of Kentucky, who would be competitive and as capable as the Tennessee company that will do the restoration.

With the unemployment rate being as alarmingly high as it is in this area as well as statewide, even a job of this size could possibly keep local tradesmen working.

What’s up, Trigg Tourism Board? Let’s keep as many jobs in our county and state as we can.
