Funeral services for Gene “Bill” Moore, 80, of Cadiz, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at King’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Steven Spitzer and Dr. Hilda Bentley officiating. Burial followed at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Moore died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of a short illness.

Mr. Moore was born February 28, 1929, in Linton. He was the son of the late John C. Moore and Lurline Dawson Moore.

Mr. Moore was a retired dairy driver and salesman, and a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the American Legion.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two brothers Thomas and Jammie Moore, his half sister Mary C. Fletcher and his half brother John Robert Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Sara Moore, his son and daughter in law Bill and Gail Moore of Cadiz, his daughter and son in law Debora and Gary Marsh of Hopkinsville, his brother Ben C. “Happy” Moore of Cadiz, and his sisters Eleanor Moore Darnell of Cadiz, Velma Moore Morgan of Big Rock, Tenn., and Sue Goodrich of Clarksville, Tenn.,

He is also survived by his three grandchildren Matthew and Nathan Marsh of Hopkinsville and Sherry Marsh Armer and her husband Brett of Reno, Nev., and his two great grandchildren Hailey and Hannah Armer of Reno, Nev.
