Trigg County’s junior varsity football team picked up a win Monday, while the freshmen lost Thursday.

The JV Wildcats won 14-12 at Ballard Memorial. Eric Huff scored Trigg’s first touchdown, and Deondre Wilson added the second. Jermya Love caught a two-point conversion and had an interception in the final seconds to seal the win.

The freshmen had a solid game, getting touchdowns from Austin Durham and Maurice Powell, but they fell short in a 20-14 overtime loss to Christian County.

The JV team will finish its season Monday at Webster County. The final two freshman games of the season were not set at press time, but head coach Shannon Burcham said the ‘Cats will likely play Graves County and Hopkins County Central in the next two Thursdays.
