Byers 15th, Cunningham 75th at state cross country meet

LEXINGTON – Trigg County’s cross country season officially ended Saturday after a pair of Trigg runners competed in the 2A state championship meet at the Lexington Horse Park.

Lynease Byers finished 15th out of 195 runners in the girls race, crossing the finish line with a time of 21 minutes, 10.59 seconds. Jenna Rogers of Louisville Christian Academy finished in 19:28.12, over 30 seconds faster than her nearest competition.

In the boys race, Wildcat runner Romaine Cunningham finished 75th out of 236 with a time of 18:46.11. Franklin County’s Robert Sandlin won in 16:22.73.

South Oldham swept the team championships.
