Funeral services for the Rev. Frank Lorenzo Russell, 55, of Cadiz, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at First Street Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. Burial will follow at Rocky Ridge Cemetery in Cadiz. The Rev. Kenneth Wharton will officiate. Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements and will hold visitation services from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at the funeral home.

The Rev. Russell died at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in Hopkins County after an automobile accident.

He was born November 1, 1954 to the late Raymond Russell and Magdulene M. Russell. He was a welder at Johnson Control in Cadiz, a graduate of Christian County High School and Hopkinsville College of the Bible, a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church and district missionary of minister and deacon’s dept. and secretary of the Little River & Cumberland Valley Association.

Survivors include his wife, Estella Vernee Boyd Russell; one daughter, LaTrita Russell of Cadiz; three sons, the Rev. Derrick (Leigha) Russell of Houston, Texas, the Rev. Demetrius (Miriam) Russell of Berea and Frank Orlando (Illyssa) Russell of Williamsburg; six brothers, George (Marjorie) Mack of Cadiz; Thomas Braxton, Jr., Allen (Vina) Russell, Larry (Linda) Russell and Raymond Russell, all of Hopkinsville; and Richard (Norma) Braxton of Gracey; two sisters, Teresa Russell and Pauline Morrison of Cadiz; mother-in-law Virginia Wharton; six aunts, three uncles, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
