DAWSON SPRINGS – Trigg County needed every bit of Ashley Matlock’s 28 points to pull out a 50-47 win last Tuesday at Dawson Springs.

After leading 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, Trigg’s offense began to struggle, allowing Dawson Springs to take a 20-18 halftime lead.

Matlock then took over, scoring 23 of her points in the second half. She was the only Lady Wildcat to score in double figures. Morgan Parker added eight points, followed by Brooke Kearney with six, Alyssa Maxey with five and Rachel Want with three.

Trigg could have had a wider advantage if not for struggles at the free throw line, where the Lady ‘Cats shot a dismal 41.7 percent (10-for-24).
