New Years Day celebrations are going to be held this year at both Lake Barkley State Park and Kenlake State Park.

Lake Barkley State Resort Park will ring in the New Year with a fine dining and live music and dancing. The Alonzo Pennington Band will be providing the music.

A night out with APB has been known to induce dancing and partying to the delicious mix of original songs, blues, country, classic rock, funk and jazz.

Event packages are available with overnight accommodations for two along with prime rib dinner, dance and breakfast are priced at $239 plus tax. More packages are available including dinner and dance and dance only. For prices and information call 1-800-325-1708 or email Nick Edmonds at Nick.Edmonds@ky.gov.

A Motown New Year’s Eve will be held at Kenlake State Park in Aurora.

Step back in time with us and dance the night away and groove to the sounds of Motown! Dance starts approximately at 9 p.m. and carries through the New Year up to 1 a.m.

Refreshments provided and fun is guaranteed! The $149.95 package price is based on double occupancy for room and dance. Ticket prices for the dance only are $46 per couple or $23 per single.

The deadline for registration is Dec. 28. Call 1-800-325-0143 for information.

Several other state resort parks across Kentucky are having parties, dances and dinners on Dec. 31 to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome in a new year.

The resorts have lodges, cottages, restaurants and other facilities and many parks will be offering overnight packages that include meals and a party, dance or show.

For more information about these and other parks, visit www.parks.ky.gov.
