The Cadiz Civitan Club enjoyed the annual Children’s Christmas Party Tuesday night, Dec. 15 at Trigg School Cafeteria, for what was described by some as the best of the 50 years history of the event.

After treats from Sonic, Santa Claus brought the gifts requested to each of the children.

Civitans wish to thank all who had a part in this event, helping Santa select and wrap and deliver the fits.

Later that evening, Civitans and guests met for dinner and Christmas party at Cadiz Restaurant. President Rachel Shepard welcomed everyone. Richard Pauze led the Pledge to the U.S.A. Flag, and John Mitchell said the prayer.

Following dinner, and introductions, Willie Wilson acknowledged Christmas cards from former Kentucky Civitan District Governor John Emerson, James Guess, and Mary Beth Carlock, of The Cadiz Record.

The program was presented by “Santa Jane” Pauze, with gifts for everyone, and fun playing “Santa bandit.”

Those attending included Logan Blakely, Missy Bogle, Vickie Likens, Ruth Herndon, Matt Crane, A.J. Parrish, and Kanisha Frye. Lanna Mullins, William and Carolyn Lawrence, Bill Lawrence, Ronnie and Connie cook, Wallace and Delores Blakeley, John Mitchell, Carole Mitchell, Willie and Jo Ann Wilson, David and Jo Nell Kyler, Jane and Richard Pauze, Rachel and Mike Shepard, and James Rutland.

The winners of gold dollars were Ruth Herndon, and Bill Lawrence.

William Lawrence read the Civitan Creed, and the meeting closed with John Mitchell leading the group singing “Silent Night.”

Cadiz Civitan club meets each first and third Tuesday 6:30 p.m. at Cadiz Restaurant. Thanks to all for buying and selling Civitan’s Famous Claxton old South Fruit Cakes, to make projects like Special Olympics, and the Children’s Christmas party possible. Merry Christmas everyone.
