‘Cats fall by two at Belfry

BELFRY – The Trigg County Wildcats’ long-distance journey to the mountains of eastern Kentucky nearly netted a win Monday night. Three ‘Cats scored in double figures, but Trigg ultimately lost 74-72 to Belfry, host of the Mountain Schoolboy Classic.

Zeke Wright scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats, followed by Javin Grubbs with 18 and Jalik Alexander. Jaylan Mount added nine, Josh Adams scored six, and Mitch Rogers had four. Full stats were unavailable at press time.

Trigg is currently in its longest stretch of the season without any games. The ‘Cats return to action Friday, Jan. 8 at 5th District rival Lyon County.
