Beshear said that H1N1 activity in the area has been “very low so far” and also said that, thankfully, no confirmed reports of H1N1 have been sent to her office since fall of 2009.
For more information about getting an H1N1 vaccine, Beshear recommends calling the Trigg County Health Department at 522-8121. A representative from the TCHD said that, for the moment, they are only accepting walk-ins, with no appointments needed or accepted.
Nationwide, there have been more than 105,000 confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus, and more than 23,000 people have been hospitalized for it, with almost 2,900 people dead as a result.
In Kentucky, there have been almost 1,900 cases of the H1N1 virus, with 36 dead as a result, including deaths in Warren, Graves, Logan and Caldwell counties, as well as nonfatal cases in Christian, Calloway and Todd counties, among others.
