Funeral services for Sylvia (Dukes) Dove Allen, 65, of Paducah, were held Sunday, January 31, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rev. Thomas Williams officiated at the services. Burial followed in Ferguson Cemetery in Smithland.

She died on Friday, January 29, 2010 at her home.

A native of Smithland, Sylvia was born November 17, 1944 to the late Oliver and Jessee Ethel (Rhea) Dukes. She was a 1963 graduate of Livingston Central High School, a longtime member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, and the owner of Sylvia’s Beauty Salon.

Surviving are her husband, Randy Allen; daughter, LaDonna Jean Butler and husband Ben of Paducah; son, William Jason Dove of Lewisville, Texas; two grandchildren, Ben Taylor Butler and Stephanie Felker both of Paducah; sister, Bea Henson of Lone Oak; three brothers, Ab Dukes of Grand Rivers, Bill Dukes of Smithland, and Dean Dukes of Ledbetter; step-children Andy Allen, Joy Stallons, Georgia McIntosh, Margaret Weatherspoon, Virginia Allen, John Allen and Josh Allen; and 10 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William Donald Dove; and a brother, Lonnie Dukes.
