Mr. Joiner was born June 5, 1939 in Christian County, the son of the late James and Lila Lee Hancock Joiner. He was a machine operator for Phelps Dodge for 22 years. Charlie was a member of Grace Ministries, and he coached Little League, and Babe Ruth Baseball, and Girls and Women’s Softball. He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Chess, and James Ray Joiner, and sister, Vivian Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Brenda Hargis Joiner of Hopkinsville; three sons, Mark Joiner of Hopkinsville, Mickey Joiner of Crofton and Ryan Joiner of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Robin Powers of Bethel, Alaska; two brothers, O’Neal Joiner of Hopkinsville and Wayne Joiner of Cadiz; four sisters, Mrs. Fred “Pauline” Aldridge of Hopkinsville, Sarah Irwin of Hopkinsville, Mrs. Shelby “Wanda” Roberts of Hopkinsville and Mrs. Bill “Clara Mae” Gillette of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren, Chase Powers, Hannah Hodge, Ashley Powers, Allison Powers, Dylan Hodge, Rhea-Lee Joiner, Marley Joiner and Latham Joiner.
