Arrowcats host, sweep regional

Trigg County’s Arrowcats swept three archery meets in February, including this weekend’s 1st Region championship meet held at the high school gym.

The win came in Trigg’s final match before the state championship March 23 in Louisville.

Trigg finished with 3,224 points in the elementary division, defeating Adairville by 103 points. Trigg Middle scored 3,315, 266 points ahead of Lewisburg, and the high school finished with 3,376 points, defeating second-place Logan County by 82 points.

Trigg also had the two overall individual winners – high schooler Landon Sumner and middle schooler Shaye Patterson, both of whom shot 290.

In the elementary girls division, Kaila Cunningham shot 280 to win the division and lead Trigg. Following her for the Arrowcats were Alexa Agosto (275, third) and Kayla Bingham (274, tied for fourth).

Braden Miller shot 275 to take second place in the elementary boys division and lead Trigg, followed one point behind by teammate Clay Stevens in third.

In the middle school girls division, Patterson was followed for Trigg by Sarah Shipley (282, tied for second) and Virginia Cundiff (280, fourth).

Trigg had four of the top five in the middle school boys division, led by Skylar Pool (283) who was followed by Jake MacNab (280), Colton Livingston (276) and Evan Smith (273).

The Arrowcats were most dominant in the high school female class, taking each of the top five positions – Kyler Herndon (287), Jennifer Hyde (286), Breanna Messmer (283), Christi Wilson (278) and Ellen Shipley (278).

Trigg also won Feb. 20 at Adairville and Feb. 6 at Lewisburg.

At the Adairville Classic, Trigg results were as follows:

Elementary Girls - 1st Kaila Cunningham 279, 3rd Elizabeth Wagner 276, 6th DeAnna Ladd 272, 9th Lexie Terrell 268, 10th Kayla Bingham 264.

Elementary Boys - 6th Clay Stevens 275, 9th Tristan Calhoun 265, 10th Braden Miller 265.

Middle School Girls - 3rd Shaye Patterson 285, 4th Virginia Cundiff 282, 5th Sarah Shipley 281, 6th Patsy Bannister 280, 7th Emily Holder 280, 8th Lexie Hyde 279.

Middle School Boys - 2nd Skylar Pool 283, 3rd Brandon Schafer 280, 4th Devin Litchfield 280, 8th Brent Jones 277.

High School Girls - 1st Emily Shipley 288, 2nd Brianna Messer 287, 3rd Ellen Shipley 285, 5th Jennifer Hyde 280, 6th Sloane Patterson 276, 7th Alexis Wiseman 274, 9th Christi Wilson 270, 10th Cameo Bingham 269.

High School Boys - 1st Landon Sumner 290, 2nd Mathew Brokering 289, 8th Jeremy Alexander 279, 10th Mark Ledford 279.

Elementary Team - 1st Place score 3218; Middle School Team - 1st Place score 3349; High School Team - 1st Place score 3376.

Overall Female - Emily Shipley 288; Overall Male - Landon Sumner 290.

From the Lewisburg Classic, complete individual results were only available for middle school and are as follows:

Girls - 2nd Shaye Patterson 289, 3rd Sarah Shipley 283, 4th Kelsey Miller 277, 5th Virginia Cundiff 274, 6th Emily Holder 269, 10th Patsy Banister 265.

Boys - 1st Jake MacNab 284, 3rd Skylar Pool 279, 5th Johnathan Fuller 278, 6th Brent Jones 274, 8th Devin Litchfield 270.
