Graveside funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens conducted by rev. Kinnith Morris. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville were in charge of arrangements. There was no public visitation.
A native of Stewart County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Floyd and Pearl James Ezell and was a self-employed farmer. He was widely known as a vocalist in local gospel quartets including the Ambassadors Quartet, Little River Boys, Melody Masters and the Churchmen. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his long-time companion and caregiver, Linda Roberts Dayoc, Hopkinsville, three sons; Roger Ezell, Gracey, Mike Ezell, Princeton and Neil Ezell, Clearwater, Fla., one daughter, Genie Ezell Gray, Clarksville, Tenn., one brother, James Boyd Ezell, Carthage, Tenn., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Christian co. Humane Society or to Pennyrile Hospice.
