Funeral services for Bernice Evelyn Allen, 82, of Shawboro, N.C., formerly of Trigg County and Benton, were held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated. Interment followed at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Sentara Nursing Center in Barco, N.C.

She was a former member of Benton Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Shawboro Ruritan Club.

She is survived by her one daughter and son-in-law, Belinda Sue and Ricky Laumann of Shawboro, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Nancy Allen of Portsmouth, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Carol Hunter of Wildwood, Fla.; daughter-in-law Janice Allen of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Mark Kuo of Redondo Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by father Robert Elmo Hunter and motherGuyeula Galusha Hunter Clark, husband Sidney Earl “Pigger” Allen, son Dr. Barry Allen, brother Robert F. “Husky” Hunter, sister Charlene Mllady and sister Mary Lou Wadlington.
