Trigg (0-7) lost last Tuesday to 5th District foe Crittenden County 11-4. The Lady ‘Cats held an early 1-0 lead and trailed 3-2 after the fourth inning, but eight Trigg errors helped the Lady Rockets score nine runs in the final three innings.
Lauren Daniel pitched a complete game for Trigg, striking out one and walking one. Sierra Bush went 2-for-4 with two runs, and Taylor Furr knocked a two-run triple.
Thursday, Trigg played four solid innings against Todd County but allowed an 11-run fifth to the Lady Rebels in an 11-1 loss. The Lady ‘Cats had only two hits on the day, one an RBI-single by Daniel to score Elizabeth Torian, who reached on an error. Daniel pitched all five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Trigg lost another five-inning mercy rule game Friday at Murray 13-2. The Lady Tigers scored 11 runs in the first two innings and capitalized on 11 Lady ‘Cat errors.
Trigg’s runs were scored by Brittany Thomas, who walked, stole two bases and scored on a wild pitch, and Brianna Messmer, who walked, stole a base and scored on a fielder’s choice. Daniel struck out two Murray batters in four innings of pitching work.
Trigg was scheduled to play Tuesday at University Heights Academy (results unavailable at press time) before hosting Livingston Central on Thursday and Russellville on Friday and playing Monday at Lyon County.
