Mrs. Mize died after a long battle with cancer at 7:45 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at her residence in Trigg County.
She had worked as a test administrator with the U.S. Department of Defense and as a budget analyst for PADD. She was also well known for her work as an International Arabian Horse Breeder. She was a member and past president of the Trigg County Athletic Booster Club and Trigg County Riding Club.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she had served as church pianist and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Mize of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law Sam and Charity Gallogly of Cadiz; daughter and son-in-law Debroah and Stefen Schael of Germany; seven grandchildren, Ryan Gallogly, Peyton Gallogly, Grant Gallogly, MacKayla Cadena, Braden Cadena, Timothy Schael and Laura Schael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grandville Sam and Marie (DeGarmo) Hatfield; one son, Timothy Gallogly; and two brothers, Roger Hatfield and Doug Hatfield.
Pallbearers will be Sam Gallogly, Ryan Gallogly, William Lawrence, Richard Binkley, Bill Pruitt, Burton Aldridge, Rabon Crump and Bill Schafer. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Watkins, Jerry Estes, Bob Bowers and Jim Ezell. Music will be provided by Kim Crump, pianist.
