Memorial services for June Vinson Yeates 88, of Yorktown, Va., formerly of Cadiz, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Vinson Family Cemetery. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of he arrangements.

The Rev. Dr. Tom Martin will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Vinson Family Cemetery. The body was cremated.

Mrs. Yeates died December 3, 2009 of natural causes.

Mrs. Yeates was born June 29, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Carey T. and Mallie Guier Vinson.

Mrs. Yeates was a member of the first graduating class of Trigg County High School in 1938 and a graduate of Western State Teachers College. During World War II, she was a teacher at Trigg County High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jess Vinson, and one sister, Lula Vinson Wilson.

Survivors include her husband John E. Yeates of Yorktown, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Kate Yeates of Purcellville, Va., and Lance and Karen Yeates of Kennesaw, Ga., two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Ellen Vinson of Pensacola, Fla. and Tom and Nell Vinson of Cadiz; and five grandchildren.
