Last Tuesday, Trigg traveled to Fill the Lanes at Murray State University. The Wildcats finished seventh overall with 41 points, while the Lady ‘Cats took 14th with 11.5.
Lynease Byers led the Lady Wildcats on the day, finishing second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:52.80. Other results were as follows:
100-meter hurdles: DiAsia Acree, 11th, :18.90; Aubree Burcham, 19th, :25.50;
4x200-meter relay: ninth, 2:03.80;
Pole vault: Valerie Barnes, fifth, 5 feet, 6 inches;
Long jump: Barnes, 17th, 12-04.5;
Discus: Deasia Wilson, ninth, 68-09; Rodreyanna Jones, 20th, 56-10.
Leading the Wildcats was Ryan Briggs, who finished second in the long jump with an effort of 19-09. Javin Grubbs also recorded a second-place finish at 120-06 in the discus. Other results are as follows:

400-meter dash: Depaul Hendrix, 11th, :57.80;
110-meter hurdles: Garrett Brown, ninth, :23.30;
300-meter hurdles: Brown, 15th, :51.90;

4x800-meter relay: fourth, 9:39.40;
High jump: Jakelzie Martin, fifth, 5-04;
Pole vault: Matt Savage, fourth, 10-00;
Long jump: Sean Beebe, 17th, 13-04;
Triple jump: Martin, 14th, 35-02.
Only two Trigg athletes attended Monday’s Last Chance meet at MSU, but both earned points. Barnes tied for first in the girls pole vault (6-06), while Savage finished fifth in the boys pole vault (6-00).
Trigg will compete in the region meet next Saturday at Logan County High School.
