Funeral services for Avanell Curling 90, Princeton, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

The Rev. Tom Hughes officiated. Burial followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Curling died following a long illness at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton.

Mrs. Curling was born November 12, 1919 in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Nancy Ann Ramey Tyler.

Mrs. Curling was a retired cafeteria worker for the Caldwell County Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Van Blane Curling; one son Kerry Curling; five brothers, Edward, Gene, Lonnie, Dallas and Thomas Tyler; three sisters, Blue Bell Fowler, Clover Tyler and Lorene Tyler; and one grandson, Jonathan Shoemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Hollis Curling and wife Phyllis of Winter Haven, Fla., andLarry Curling and wife Sherry of Princeton; two daughters, Sherry Shoemaker and husband Bo of Homasassa, Fla., and LaDonna Darnell and husband Ronnie of Princeton; one brother, Willard Tyler of Trigg County; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren, Melissa Lee, Michael Curling, Barclay Shoemaker, Ginna Simpson, Ty Curling, Tonya McGowan, Emily Curling, Katie Crush and Will Fletcher; 12 great grandchildren, Lathan Lee, Amanda Lee, Sophia Shoemaker, Sebastin Shoemaker, Brook Melton, Aidan McGowan, Cicily Curling, Bryan Tyler Curling, Sallie Jo Curling, Laney Fletcher, Ava Simpson and and Kerry Simpson.
