The Trigg County Hospital Auxiliary celebrated thirty years of service to the community during their annual luncheon at the Cadiz Christian Church Fellowship Hall on May 10.

Originally formed in the early 1960s by Mrs. Cleland White II, the Auxiliary was reorganized in 1979 by Ray Lazar and Kathleen B. Magraw. Special recognition was given to associate members Virginia Alexander, Ann Heal, Martha Maxfield, Juanita Oates and Barbara Shore for thirty years of dedicated service to the community.

Representing the hospital at the luncheon were CEO Lisa Coleman, CNO Gail Franks and Administrative Assistant Jody Brewer. Ms. Coleman praised the continuing efforts of the auxiliary to serve the hospital and its patients.

Ms. Franks thanked the auxiliary for its financial contributions. More than $4,000 in purchases have been made so far this year with $2,342 allocated to Rehabilitation for two items: a stationary bike and an arm cycle. $2,331.23 for a vital signs machine was allocated to the nursing department. New chairs for the admissions department will be presented at a later date.

The Kidcats, the Trigg County Intermediate School choir under the direction of Laura Grigson, provided the auxiliary with a delightful musical interlude after lunch.

Auxiliary President Barbara Dunn presented a review of the activities and successful fund raising efforts of the past year. These included a “Fun Daze” in October, a Christmas Open House in November and a “Swing into Spring” event in April.

She thanked the hospital staff and the community for their continued support of the Gift Box and other auxiliary fund raising efforts, including the Memorial Fund.
