Funeral services for Dewey P. Ladd, 88, of Murray, formerly of Princeton, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Bridgie Miller and the Rev. David Oaks officiated. Burial followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Ladd died after a long illness at 12:10 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Glendale Place Nursing Center in Murray.

Mr. Ladd was born August 17, 1921 in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Walter L. and Georgia Boyd Ladd.

Mr. Ladd was a retired postal worker and mail carrier. He was a member of the Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church and usher for 35 years and past Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He was in charge of arranging the golf tournaments for and served on the Board of Directors at the Princeton Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Copeland Ladd of Murray; one daughter, Dianne Parnell and husband Denny of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Jeri Oliver and husband Levi of Princeton; three grandchildren, Allyson Parnell, Blake Clark (and husband Travis) and Carrie Moore (and husband Tim); and several nieces and nephews.
