Funeral services for Dale Calhoun, 70, of Cadiz, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home.

The Revs. Ronnie Hooks and Irvin Darnall officiated. Burial followed at Lucian Thomas Family Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mrs. Calhoun died at 9 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at her residence in Trigg County of natural causes.

Mrs. Calhoun was born Sunday, August 13, 1939, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Homer Blane and Beulah Bridges Thomas.

Mrs. Calhoun was a homemaker and former magistrate. She was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and church treasurer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Goober” Calhoun, son William Dale Smith and sister Dora Larue Oliver.

Survivors include one sister, Sue Anna King of Cadiz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas and Pauletta Calhoun of Cadiz; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Stallons, Josh King, Kevin Latham, Micah Calhoun, Stephen Carr, Jason Oakley, Nick Marlowe and Ryan Augustnovich.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Oliver, Terry Alderson, Dustin Finley and Mike Carr.

Steve Darnall, organist, Jessica Riley, pianist, and Roy Marquess, Jr., vocalist, provided the music.
