Trigg County High School opened its 2010 golf season in style with a win last Tuesday at Miller Golf Course in Murray.

The Wildcats shot a team score of 170 and were victorious in a quad match including Calloway County (176), Murray (179) and Marshall County (184).

Cole Gardner led Trigg with a score of 38, which tied him for medalist honors with Jordan Smith of Murray.

Other Trigg golfers included Nick Choate (42), Derek Rogers (44), Austin Apsley (46) and Ryan Russell (49).

Three Lady Wildcats also competed at Murray, but Trigg did not have enough golfers for a team score. Karli Bush shot 51, Madison Chaney shot 53 and Lyndsey Choate shot 59.

Trigg returns to action Thursday at Mineral Mounds in Kuttawa, Monday at Princeton Country Club and Tuesday at Marion Country Club.
