Mr. Futrell died Friday, October 22, 2010, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
Mr. Futrell was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church, where he had served on the building and grounds committee. He owned and operated a saw mill for 35 years, was a logger for 12 years and worked as a trucker for 14 years hauling rock.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Wendy Futrell of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Leigh Ann Futrell of Owensboro, Joanna Futrell of Bowling Green and Joenelle Futrell of Philpot; two great-grandchildren, Ensley Futrell and Madeline Futrell; one sister, Lenora Colson of Murray; and daughter-in-law Ann Kirk Futrell of Philpot.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eunice Stewart Futrell on August 1, 1976; one son, Charles Prentice Futrell, brothers Robert Futrell and Albert “Ted” Futrell, sisters Annie Mae Justus and Hallen Futrell. His parents were Luther Futrell and Luella Berkley Futrell.
Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Futrell, Jeremy Futrell, Todd Harton, Winston Perry, Donnie McCraw and Bill Lester. Music was provided by Pam Witty, pianist, and Bruce Higbee, vocalist.
