Mr. Stevenson died of natural causes at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born August 23, 1931 in Murphysboro, Ill. to the late John Alvin Stevenson and Ethel Smith Stevenson.
He was a member of the Crossroads Fellowship Church where he served as an Elder. He was a retired Emeritus Professor from Western Kentucky University, as well as a U. S. Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Stevenson of Cadiz, ; one brother, Sherman Stevenson (and wife Sylvia) of Oregon,; two sisters, Ella Cook of Murphysboro, Ill., and Patsy Jo Hurley of Florida,; one son, Doug Stevenson of Cadiz,; three daughters, Jeanne (and husband Bill Rolett) of Bowling Green, Lisa Stevenson (and husband Robert Turner) of Bowling Green, and Lori (and husband Bob Conyers) of Franklin, Tenn. ; two grandchildren, Brad Ausbrooks of Bowling Green and Stephen (and wife Rebekah) of Louiville.
Pallbearers were Doug Stevenson, Bill Rolett, Robert Turner, Bob Conyers, Brad Ausbrooks and Stephen Ausbrooks; honorary pallbearers, No U Turn Jim Stroud Life Group, John Fuller, Matt Ladd, Gary Hodge, Kevin Terrell, Jeff Hunter, Tony Dothsuk, Jerimiah Kline and Eddie Craft. Music was given by Robin Stevens, Kenna Hudgens, Ben and Stephanie Bruce, Keith and Deanna Porterfield, Eddie Craft, Mark Thomas and Stacie Kline.
