This week’s column is being sent to my loyal readers from Lexington. That’s right, Big Blue Country. As a matter of fact, it is being sent from the UK Medical Clinic. You see, my oldest son Zack is having reconstructive knee surgery even as I type. After playing every kind of sport for 22 years without injury, his luck ran out. On a fall day after attending classes at pharmacy school, he decided to play a little pick-up basketball. During the game, he tore his ACL and miniscus as well as spraining his MCL and LCL. UK”s team doctor, Darren Johnson, is in the beginning stages of the two-hour surgery at this very moment.

Back to this week’s column.

Being an educator, I can tell you that the theme for this year is assessment, both formative and  sumative. Teachers use asessment for learning and to assess what has been learned. We are going to do a little bit of both today.

It is time I checked your Trigg County Sports knowledge just a little bit. Make you a list of answers to the questions and send them to Justin McGill at the Cadiz Record.
