Funeral services for Elizabeth “Liz” Ward, 65, of Princeton, were held Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Princeton. Dr. Don Mathis and Bros. Kent Workman, Roger Rice, Kyle Noffsinger and Aaron Nelson officiated. Burial followed in the Lance Nichols Cemetery. Morgan’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ward died following a long illness at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at her home.

She was born July 7, 1945 in Trigg County to the late Edison Williams and Barbara Stallons Williams.

She was the co-owner of Golden Rule Preschool where she taught for eight years after teaching at Southside Baptist Preschool for 28 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Princeton.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Phillip Ward of Princeton; five brothers, Edison Williams Jr. (and wife Cherry) of Brooks, Bobby Williams (and wife Donna) of Eddyville, Jimmy Williams (and wife Pat) of Eddyville, Joe Williams (and wife Brenda) of Eddyville and Gaylon Williams (and wife Jennifer) of Eddyville; one sister, Naomi Wells (and husband Bobby) of Eddyville; one son, Michael Ward (and wife Janet) of Kuttawa; one daughter, Missy Nelson (and husband Randy) of Fredonia; three grandsons, Aaron Nelson (and wife Heather) of Eddyville, Adrian Berkley (and husband Josh) of Lexington and John Robert Ward of Kuttawa; one granddaughter, Katherine “Kate” Ward of Kuttawa and many nieces and nephews.
