There is not much sweeter in life than seeing a dream come true. For many years I have dreamed of seeing a Trigg County Wildcat Athletic Hall of Fame established. Finally, that dream has become a reality.

It is important to note that this project could not have been possible without the financial backing of a wonderful Trigg County couple that wishes to remain anonymous. Many thanks also go out to a hard working committee that had several meetings in order to elect the first class of inductees. Now let’s get to the best part, the inaugural class of the Trigg County Wildcat Hall of Fame. There will be much discussion as well as debate over each class that is elected. That is part of it and part of what makes it so much fun. I can tell you that the second and third classes that will be inducted could possibly be just as qualified as the first. With that said, here is the list in alphabetical order.

Al Baker (Football and Track)

Joe Graham (Football and Basketball)

Millard Griffin (Contributor)

Karen Johnson (Girls Basketball)

Paul Perdue (Coach)

Eddie Radford (Basketball and Football)

George Radford (Coach)

David Sadler (Football)

Jim Wallace (Coach)

Willie Wilson (Contributor)

Next week, I will give much more detail as to the accomplishments and achievements of each of these individuals.

The individuals making up this inaugural class will be introduced between the Trigg County vs. Caldwell County girls and boys games at Wildcat gym on Feb. 11th. On the 12th the Trigg County Schools cafeteria will open at 4:00 for fellowship with the meal and ceremony beginning at 5:00. Please try to attend and help honor these well deserving former athletes, coaches and contributors.

Enthusiasm Makes the Difference Mike Wright is the head coach of boys basketball and cross country at Trigg County High School. Emails concerning Coach’s Corner can be sent to jmcgill@cadizrecord.com.
