Kline takes third at state middle school wrestling meet

Trigg County Middle Schooler Jerimiah Kline finished third in the 96-pound weight class Saturday at the Middle School State Wrestling Tournament in Mount Sterling.

Kline was also selected to the All-Kentucky team. He’ll train and compete with the team in events throughout the country in advance of national tournaments later in the year.

In high school action, Trigg competed Saturday at Fort Campbell’s Blue and Gray Duals.

Aaron Stevens led Trigg by going an undefeated 4-0 in the 189-pound division. Other Trigg results were as follows:

Daniel Ingram, 119 lbs., 3-1; Jayven Jones, 152 lbs., 2-2; Ryan Gallogly, 130 lbs., 1-3; Cody Whittington, 125 lbs., 1-3; Elliott Boyd, 160 lbs., 0-4; Jaishon Faison, 0-4.

The high school region championship is set for Feb. 12 at Union County High School, with state to follow Feb. 16-19 at the Frankfort Convention Center.
