Funeral services for Frank “Jake” Croney, 80, of Hopkinsville, were held Thursday, March 3, 2011. The Rev. Jerry Bacon officiated. Burial followed in the Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery in Hopkinsville. Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Croney died of natural causes at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville,

He was born December 28, 1930 in Christian County to the late Houston Croney and Susie Wright Croney.

He was a member of the Allen Grove Baptist Church. He worked as a road grader for the Christian County Highway Department and was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.

He is survived by one son, Larry Wilson (and wife Pamela) of Cadiz; two daughters, Sheila Wilson Stanley (and husband Richard) of Columbia, S.C. and Carmen Croney of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
