Funeral services for Douglas “Red” Cunningham, 63, of Cadiz, were held Sunday, March 27, 2011. The Rev. Mike Wimberly officiated. Burial followed in Cunningham-Trigg Furnace Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Cunningham died of natural causes at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Trigg County Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1947 in Trigg County to the late Sammie Lee and Mary Frances Faughn Cunningham. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Louise Heflin, Gertrude McGough and Doris Kaye Birdsong; and one granddaughter, Mary Frances Cunningham.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Parker Cunningham of Cadiz; one brother, Morris Cunningham of Cadiz; two sisters, Dora Elizabeth Parker of Princeton and Lillie Mae Parker of Cadiz; two sons, Noble Lee Cunningham of Cadiz and Zachary Lee Cunningham of Cadiz; and two grandsons, Joseph Lee Cunningham and Douglas Dewayne Cunningham.

Pallbearers were Mike Heflin, Gary, Clarence, Herman and Tommy Litchfield and Robert Parker.
