Mr. Gresham died of natural causes at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was born March 13, 1928 in Lyon County to the late Roy Gresham and Ida Purdy Gresham.
He was a member of the East Cadiz Baptist Church. He retired from BF Goodrich and had been the owner and operator of the 5 & 10 store in Eddyville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell Gresham; one brother, Noble Gresham; and one great granddaughter, Sadie Gresham.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly Travis Gresham of Paducah; three sisters, Evangeline Murphy of Lamasco, Mary Agnes Gray of Reidland and Dorothy Pierce of Melvindale, Mich.; two sons, Ron Gresham (and wife Diane) of Jefferson City, Mo., Joel Gresham (and wife Kathy) of Kuttawa; one daughter, Gena Allen (and husband Andy) of Cadiz; two step-daughters, Carla Bartleman (and husband Bill) of Reidland and Bonita Holloway (and husband Jim) of Columbus, Miss.; six grandchildren, Adam Gresham of Jefferson City, Mo., Andrea Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio, Austin Gresham of Pittsburg, Pa., Zachary Gresham of Kuttawa, Hunter Allen of Cadiz and Tyler Allen of Cadiz; six great grandchildren, Cole, Myles and Grey Gresham, Cierra and Carleigh Blaschak and Alex Gresham, four step- grandchildren and six step- great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hunter Allen, Tyler Allen, Austin Gresham, Zachary Gresham, Adam Gresham, Andy Allen, Rod Murphy, Frankie Murphy and Brian Pierce. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Murphy and Dr. Randy Allen.
Music was provided by Joy Stallons, pianist and vocalist and Georgia McIntosh, vocalist.
