Former President, Oliver Wilson, conducted the meeting substituting for President Gloria Frenette. Chapter Chaplain Clyde Weaver gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Kentucky Federation of NARFE is planning to hold the 2012 Convention in this area. Wilson distributed a list of duties. Members were asked to review the list and see which jobs they would like to help with at the Convention.
The NARFE Kentucky Federation District I spring meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 2, at Miss Scarlett’s Restaurant (Exit 31 off Interstate 24). Registration begins at 9 a.m.
The guest Speaker will be Bill Bartleman, 30-year Political Columnist/Reporter for KET-TV and the Paducah Sun.
Wilson welcomed Mark Musick to the meeting. Mark told about his interesting career with the Central Intelligence Agency and how he and his wife chose to retire in Cadiz.
Richard Pauze gave an update on Congressional News and how the proposed budget cuts could affect active federal employees as well as federal annuitants.
Pauze has already contacted Senator Rand Paul, Congressman Ed Whitfield and Senator Mitch McConnell. All three responded to his request for information with a letter, which Pauze shared with the Chapter. The meeting was adjourned at 11 a.m.
Chapter 1730 invites all current and former federal employees to their meetings. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Cadiz Senior Center. Anyone wishing more information may call Secretary Daniel Bruzewski at 270-924-9520.
