Funeral services for Mary Lou Stevenson, 83, of Gracey, were held Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Harold Greenfield officiated. Burial followed at Little River Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Stevenson died of natural causes at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at her residence.

She was born October 8, 1927 in Christian County to the late Oscar Turner and Ophelia Mae Boyd Golladay.

She was a member of Wallonia Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She retired from Gresham’s White Feather Farms. She was also a member of Widowed Persons Group of Cadiz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas “Tommy” Stevenson; and one grandchild, Charles Brian Proffit.

Survivors include one daughter, Clara Patterson (and husband Pat) of Alvaton; three grandchildren, Eddie and Jessica Proffit and Melanie Littlepage; and four great grandchildren, Brennan Morck, Karis Littlepage, Dylan Proffit and Krisalyn Littlepage.

Pallbearers were Gant Golladay, Donnie Boyd, Willie Stevenson, Gobel Steenson, Nick Gresham and Timmy P’Pool. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Kremer, Mack Cunningham, John Lee, Bobby Holloway, Tommy Farmer and Bly Golladay, Jr.

Music was provided by Wallonia Baptist Church Choir and Bonnie Boyd, pianist.
