The Trigg / Lyon Newcomers was conceived in the 1970s designed to give women a time to meet other women of the area and socialize. Their ongoing motto is “There are no strangers, only friends who haven’t met.”

That fellowship continues today. All women of Trigg and Lyon counties are welcome whether you are new to the area or a lifetime resident. The Newcomers meet the third Wednesday of each month. Through the years, the Newcomers have evolved into a community service organization as well as a social club serving many local charities through our time and monetary donations.

Wednesday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. the Newcomers are having their Annual Fashion Show. This special event will be held at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement and is sponsored by Ashley’s. There will not only be members modeling the latest spring fashions, but also door prizes and special discounts from the merchants at Patti’s. Admission tickets are available from any member of Newcomers or at the door for a $5 donation.

You are also invited to join us for lunch at Bill’s following the Fashion Show. Each participant is responsible for their own lunch.
