To the Editor:

Why are gas prices so high in Cadiz? The price of gas in Cadiz is $3.68 per gallon and has remained at that price for some time. We have recently returned from a trip out west and nowhere in our travels did we find gas as high as it is here in Cadiz. The morning we left, gas was $3.25 per gallon in Union City, Tenn. In Oklahoma City, Okla., we saw gas for $3.19 and in Gallup, N. M., gas was $3.25 per gallon the week we stayed there. We traveled through Arkansas, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri and did not find gas prices higher than in Cadiz. Any direction you travel from Cadiz, the gas prices are cheaper. We bought gas in Clarksville, Tenn. last week, and gas was $3.51 per gallon. This week, we bought gas in Hopkinsville for $3.51 per gallon. I believe in shopping locally and spending my money in Trigg County, but I refuse to be ripped off by the higher gas prices in Cadiz.
