Southern Kentucky Independent Theatre and Janice Mason Art Museum are subsidiaries of the Cadiz Community Arts Center. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency supports the Cadiz Community Arts Center with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Cadiz Community Arts Center was founded in 1998 when a group of people bought a historic building that was soon to be vacated, and with a gift from the David L. Mason Foundation, they began a renovation of the building. The first exhibit opened in December 2000, and the old post office became the Janice Mason Art Museum.
