Have politicians earned ‘recess’?

RECESS: I am dating myself but the last time I enjoyed recess was in elementary school, and it was typically a potty break (grandparent jargon) between 8 a.m. and noon. Somehow, our lawmakers in Washington have turned what is typically construed as a short break period into four weeks of down time.

Must be because they have done such an outstanding job that they feel justified in taking this amount of time away from their job of governing this fine country.

Back to the poddy break scenario, perhaps they need this amount of time to reload their minds with more brilliance so that they can continue to dazzle us with their ability to confuse, confound and complicate solutions required to create jobs and fix our economy.
