After a 10-0 loss last Tuesday against Hopkinsville, Trigg County bounced back at Calloway County on Thursday but fell 2-1.

“We came out strong and put the hard work in early,” Trigg head coach Rachel Longley said. “We had some very close opportunities, including one that should have resulted in a penalty kick. Some changes to the backline allowed us to deal with their speed which has been an issue for us all season. The forwards began to drop back and support the defensive players once they won the ball giving us some relief from attacking pressure.”

Calloway scored two quick goals early in the second half, but the Lady Wildcats didn’t quit, Longley said.

“At half time, all I asked of the girls was to leave everything on the field,” Longley said. “We regrouped, came together and continued to work hard.”
